COLUMBIA, Mo. -- QB Keith Price led Washington to an early 21-0, and Green held off Red for the second time to improve to 3-1 in this young tournament. Green rebounded nicely with a Huskie team that struggled mightily against Red in a preseason friendly.
Washington’s Chris Polk accounted for all three #UDUB touchdowns, including two on the ground and one through the air. The final score of the game did not reflect the stronghold that Green held throughout, however, Red did ultimately have an onside kick opportunity that provided some drama late. Green’s hands team safely covered the ball, and QB Price was able to kneel out the clock to secure a victory.
Washington moves on the second round in the South-Left region, where Green is starting to develop a stronghold after already advancing Utah. Washington looks forward to a potential matchup after familiar Pacific Northwest foe Boise State.
