You're My Boy, Blue!

You're my boy.

A special Happy Birthday shoutout to our good friend Blue Edwards. Blue has given countless hours in his role as Figures Czar, always going above and beyond the call of duty - and doing so with unbridled enthusiansm. A pioneer of the passing game, his accomplishments on the gridiron are equally impressive as he captured the inaugural TNS crown, and last year's title as well. His dedication is a shining example for us all to follow, and we look forward to again embarking on a magical journey with him this year.

Blue Edwards, in recognition of your remarkable achievements in energy finance and sustainable technology, we are proud to bestow upon you this salute.

Here's to keeping your head on a swivel for years to come, although it won' be on a PS2.

Schnizzle,

Red

More Draft Figures!

Changing the formula has dramatically altered the landscape of Sensationalizationalism. Case in point: in 31 of the 32 first round games, the home team is also the stronger team in the game. The only exception is the 31-34 matchup of Texas Tech at Iowa. Texas Tech is the 40th best team in the game and Iowa is 55th.

There are 7 Orange vs. Blue matchups in the first round. Orange will host 5 of them.
There are 7 Red vs. Green matchups. Red will host 4.
There are 6 Blue vs. Red matchups. Red will host 4.
There are 6 Green vs. Orange matchups. Orange will host 5.
There are 3 Orange vs. Red matchups. Orange will host 2.
There are 3 Blue vs. Green matchups. Blue will host 2.

This One Counts!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the sad day that we have been dreading is finally upon us. As summer as baseball, Red and I journeyed down route 30 late Monday night for the release of NCAA 2011. Merely a parody of what such a trip used to mean, Red and I were cracking jokes about how poorly the 2011 version of the game we so fondly cherish would turn out. I don't think we ever saw this coming. In fact, it took us several days to notice that the janitors of EA decided to slash out the core component of Sensationalizationalism.

In this vast brave new world, beyond the halls of third Schnader north, the single feature that allowed us to maintain deep connections and even develop new relationships is gone. The days where all we needed was a "big red" (or three, strung throughout the ceiling across an entire apartment) to continue to play this childish game, they call football, are gone.

All that remains is to answer the one question that is racing through your minds as you read over this post: don't worry, MASCOT MODE is still alive!?!

So let's enjoy this last go 'round, the pagentry and beautiful tapestry that is Sensationalizationalism. We are breaking out all of the bells and whistles for 2010...websites, video montages/highlights, and live gamecast blogging, because too soon enough, we will no longer be able "try play online."

Also, if everyone could pray that EA not shut down the 2010 servers, that would be great.

59. Air Force
60. Middle Tennessee State
61. Troy
62. Nevada
